In 2008, I guilt tripped, begged, and pleaded to get my group of horror hating friends into the theater with me to see Cloverfield on the weekend of it's release. While I loved the movie, there was something else that caught my eye, that was Lizzy Caplan in the role of Marlena. While of course *Spoiler Alert* she blows up before the film ends, she to me was THE star of the film.
Everyone knows I'm a fan of the "Katy Perry-types", I like dark hair and big eyes, but I dig this lady and it's not just due to her looks, I think she has real talent. Since Cloverfield, I've seen her pop up in True Blood, and I saw her in Hot Tub Time Machine, and I again loved her performance there as well. But as her star seems to be on the rise, I asked just where has she been this whole time? As it turns out she was in Mean Girls, she had also been on several tv shows, but the main one of note is none other than American Dad, to which she is the voice of Debbie. Oh and she just so happened to be on Freaks and Geeks a few times as well. So she's not really new she's just now getting recognition.
Now this is of course Women in Horror Month, and she was in a horror movie and True Blood is about vampires so we all know that counts, so why not take a moment and give the girl come praise huh? Also for all you guys out there reading, here's some pics of her to make your day better...
